About the Role
This role offers a unique opportunity to work with complex systems and equipment, providing engineering and technical services to support a growing organization. You will have the chance to explore both office and field environments on a variety of interesting projects, including designing new substations, analyzing systems, working with transformers, engineering electrical protection and control circuits, and performing acceptance testing and failure analysis.
Responsibilities
- Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems.
- Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities.
- Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches.
- Conducts engineering and related studies.
- Completes non-routine engineering projects with minimal oversight.
- Independently manages project schedules and interfaces.
- Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
- Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
- Maintains accurate records and files.
- Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.
- Work with complex systems and equipment.
- Provide engineering and technical services.
- Design new substations and infrastructure.
- Analyze systems and disruptions to service.
- Work with transformers.
- Engineer electrical protection and control circuits.
- Perform acceptance testing of equipment.
- Analyze equipment failures and system disturbances.
- Generate detailed engineering designs and documentations for fiber installation, configuration, and commissioning of fiber optic equipment.
- Contribute to the strategic development, expansion, planning, design, maintenance and operation of the system and its equipment.
- Work on substation design, maintenance, and support.
- Optimize the cost and performance of substation equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Five to eight (5 to -8 years) related experience is required.
- Engineering design experience preferred.
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
- Position may require occasional to significant travel by car.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Eversource will not offer immigration-related sponsorship for this position.

Skills
- Knowledge of utility power systems is preferred
