About the Role

Austin Community College is seeking a Fitness Center Assistant to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment and assist faculty and students within the fitness facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Greet students and assist them with locating persons and information about facilities and programs.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies and materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness for equipment and environment.
  • Assist faculty with demonstration of proper technique or use of equipment.
  • Set up or configure equipment; perform routine maintenance and repair.
  • Assist students, or monitor and assist students, faculty, and staff in the use of equipment or facilities.
  • Perform clerical duties including operating a computer, maintaining records and files, and compiling data and reports.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to become CPR/AED First Aid and/or Red Cross Lifeguard Certified.
  • Employees are required to maintain a domicile in the State of Texas while working for the college and throughout the duration of employment.
  • Employees are required to report violations under Title IX and, under the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), select individuals are required to report crimes.
  • Work safely and follow safety rules.
  • Report unsafe working conditions and behavior.
  • Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.
