About the Role

The Security Products Console team owns the public-facing interface for configuring Next-Gen WAF, DDoS protection, Bot Management, and future security products. Our APIs are critical for customers to manage security during active attacks, automate workflows, and adapt to the evolving threat landscape. This role involves shaping the future of our API surface as it scales for new product launches and a growing developer ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Design, ship, and own public-facing APIs and backend services in Go, from technical proposal and design docs through implementation, testing, production rollout, and on-call support.
  • Utilize AI coding agents as part of the daily workflow.
  • Partner with frontend engineers, product managers, and security researchers to ship the customer experience end-to-end.
  • Transform ambiguous or broadly-scoped problems into well-defined technical plans for team execution.
  • Author design and architectural documents to drive alignment across engineering and product teams.
  • Collaborate with internal platform teams, product managers, and stakeholders to understand needs and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Consider stability, performance, and scalability in designs and team guidance.
  • Mentor and grow other engineers through code review, pairing, and technical leadership.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience designing and building reliable, large-scale backend systems.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years shipping production Go as the primary language.
  • 3+ years on public APIs with external consumers, including experience with breaking changes and deprecation notices.
  • Proven ability to drive projects end-to-end, from design doc through post-launch.
  • Good judgment on RESTful API design principles (resource modeling, versioning, idempotency, error semantics, pagination, OpenAPI).
  • Experience designing APIs with consideration for downstream users (customers, support engineers, frontend teammates).
  • Experience with testing and observability as a means of subtraction, not addition.
  • Comfort using coding agents as a daily driver.
