About the Role
The Vice President will collaborate with the Managing Director and New Ventures team to identify and evaluate opportunities for company creation. This role involves developing investment theses for drug acquisition targets within specific therapeutic areas.
Responsibilities
- Source and maintain a pipeline of novel drug development ideas for NewCos within given therapeutic areas.
- Conduct proprietary research to analyze assets across science, disease, commercial, IP, CMC, clin dev, regulatory, and valuation verticals.
- Write, pitch, and maintain investment notes for company ideas.
- Build pitch decks including recommended deal terms, clinical development, and financing.
- Develop expertise within therapeutic areas of coverage.
- Attend all relevant medical, banking, and partnering conferences.
- Convert ideas into NewCos with successful PnL.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Advanced degree (MD or PhD) strongly preferred.
- All applicants MUST have a degree in and a strong understanding of biological sciences.
- 5+ years of experience focused on the biotech/pharmaceutical sector, buy-side role preferred.
- Also open to MD/PhDs with <5 years of experience who are looking to make a career switch.
- Ability to operate independently on both strategic and tactical tasks, and clearly articulate the process involved.
- Investor mindset, deep experience with producing research notes.
- Relevant academic or industry experience in the life sciences is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated tenacity in conducting detailed research and presenting findings.
