About the Role
Brookdale at Home is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) for one-on-one assignments helping seniors. This role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others while growing your career.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct care to external Brookdale at Home clients, reflecting Brookdale’s philosophy and standards of non-skilled home care.
- Assists clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and mobility.
- Performs homemaker companion tasks such as laundry, shopping, light housekeeping, and meal preparation.
- Follows assignment tasks and communicates with supervisor regarding any deviations.
- Encourages client independence in their own care.
- Documents care delivery in the client’s clinical record.
- Adheres to infection control and safety policies.
- Implements accurate, timely, and confidential client care.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for the client.
- Responds promptly to client requests for assistance.
- Maintains effective communication with clients, families, and co-workers.
- Identifies and communicates changes in client status or needs to the Agency Manager.
- Participates in educational programs and maintains training compliance.
- Ensures reliable transportation to client homes for assignments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proof of completing an approved Home Health Aide program required.
- Six months of experience working independently with home care clients preferred.
- Current state certification or state-specific required training.
- Reliable form of transportation required.
- Valid state identification card required.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
Skills
- Basic technical skills to complete repetitive and well-defined duties.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Effective communication in English with patients, family members, and associates.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Good judgment in emergency situations.
