About the Role

The Sales Development Representative is focused on prospecting leads and is accountable for driving new sales opportunities. This role involves identifying potential customers, determining their likelihood of conversion, and feeding qualified accounts to improve lead generation success rates. As a catalyst for new sales generation, the SDR creates a pipeline of leads for Solutions Account Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect for new business through high-volume daily activity via phone, email, and LinkedIn.
  • Follow up with prospects as previously identified.
  • Own the lead-generation process by researching assigned targets and reaching out with tested value propositions to qualify prospective customers.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to track, assess, and qualify omnichannel leads.
  • Meet with Solutions Account Executives to ensure all information gathered during the pre-sales process is accurate and fully documented.
  • Work closely with sales teams to schedule qualified demonstrations and meetings, build pipeline, and produce real business opportunities in accordance with approved sales management guidelines.
  • Identify qualified prospects and navigate company structures to identify key decision-makers and influencers.

Requirements

  • Sales, customer-facing, lead generation, and scientific research experience are beneficial but not required.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including communicating complex content to a range of audiences.
  • Self-starter attitude with excellent efficiency and self-management.
  • Proven track record of work ethic and exceeding goals, coupled with a positive attitude and eagerness to excel in an agile environment.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills with the ability to identify complex issues related to sales, marketing, and business development.
  • Interest in a career in sales and a company that offers development opportunities.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications and LinkedIn.

Salary/Compensations

  • Home based-Ohio $46,700 - $78,000. Total Target Cash Range: $71,900 - $120,000.
  • New York: Base pay range $54,100 - $90,400, Total target cash range $83,200 - $138,900.
  • New York City: Base pay range $59,000 - $98,500, Total target cash range $90,800 - $151,600.
  • Rochester, NY: Base pay range $49,200 - $82,100, Total target cash range $75,700 - $126,300.
