About the Role
Lead and grow a book of business, ensuring client satisfaction and profitability. Serve as the day-to-day lead on mid-market and large clients, collaborating with senior colleagues on complex engagements. Drive client strategy and relationships by leveraging expertise and WTW's resources to achieve client retention, satisfaction, and profitable growth, while actively pursuing new business.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to mid-market and large clients in group benefits program design and management.
- Support senior colleagues in managing WTW’s largest and most complex clients.
- Lead client teams and collaborate with technical resources and actuaries on project plans, ensuring objectives, budgets, timelines, deliverables, and quality standards are met.
- Support the finalization and delivery of client presentations with client service and Centre of Excellence teams.
- Proactively advise clients and ensure superior client service.
- Demonstrate strong negotiation and relationship management skills to navigate client and vendor conversations and optimize outcomes.
- Engage WTW specialist resources and experts to address client needs and generate new business.
- Grow revenue by anticipating client needs, offering new solutions, and effectively scoping and contracting engagements.
- Play a lead role in new client pursuits by crafting solutions and responding to RFPs.
- Generate and track new business opportunities.
- Directly manage and/or mentor colleagues to achieve objectives.
- Maintain market presence and enhance WTW’s brand.
- Conduct final review of deliverables to ensure alignment with client objectives, optimal WTW recommendations, and adherence to professional excellence standards.
- Apply understanding of H&B revenue drivers to develop effective engagement pricing, contracting, and staffing models that support profitability.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in designing and managing mid-market and large group benefits plans within a consulting or brokerage environment.
- Proven track record of creating, managing, and expanding client relationships.
- Executive presence with polished and well-developed communication skills.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with all organizational levels.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian insurers and vendors.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Life and Health license required within 180 days of joining.
- Availability to travel on an as-needed basis.
- Relevant experience and/or university degree.
- CEBS designation, or health and welfare actuarial or underwriting training is an asset.
