About the Role
Ice Miller LLP is seeking a mid-level Bankruptcy Associate for its New York office with 3-5 years of bankruptcy or restructuring experience. This role supports a sophisticated practice handling complex national bankruptcy and litigation cases, representing diverse stakeholders in high-stakes Chapter 11 proceedings.
Responsibilities
- Support complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters, including chapter 11 cases and out-of-court workouts.
- Represent creditors’ committees, liquidation trustees, receivers, debtors, landlords, secured and unsecured creditors.
- Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and related filings.
- Participate in substantive court proceedings.
- Collaborate with attorneys across offices and practice groups on restructuring matters in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Requirements
- Three (3) to five (5) years of bankruptcy or restructuring experience within a law firm environment.
- Experience in chapter 11 matters and creditor-side representation.
- Experience in litigation, taking and defending depositions, and courtroom advocacy.
- Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills.
- Strong entrepreneurial drive.
- Strong drive to stay informed on legal developments and industry trends in bankruptcy law.
- Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.
