About the Role
In the RESTART program for newcomers at Social Impact gGmbH, you will support small businesses looking to transfer ownership and potential successors in taking over existing businesses. You will develop solutions for financing without traditional bank loans, guiding both parties from initial contact through to successful handover and the initial months thereafter. You will leverage over 20 years of experience from Social Impact gGmbH in entrepreneurship, diversity, and impact-oriented qualification, joining an experienced team that provides access to businesses, financing, networks, and experts.
Responsibilities
- Identify and recruit small businesses willing to transfer ownership by building contacts with guilds, tax advisors, economic development agencies, and neighborhood management.
- Advise and support potential successors in preparation and suitability assessment, focusing on individuals from structurally disadvantaged groups.
- Advise on alternative financing models for business takeovers and facilitate supplementary public funding instruments.
- Moderate the matching process between businesses and potential successors, coordinating with legal and tax experts.
- Support the further networking of RESTART in the Berlin/Brandenburg region with chambers, job centers, and relevant organizations.
- Document advisory processes and contribute to project monitoring and impact measurement.
Requirements
- Expertise and practical experience in business succession, startup founding, business coaching, or economic development.
- Good knowledge of typical business takeover issues: business valuation, financing, contract design, handover process.
- University degree in a relevant field or comparable qualification through professional experience, further training, or own founding/takeover practice.
- Experience with one or more of the mentioned target groups, in relevant networks, or inclusive advisory formats.
- Existing contacts with chambers, job centers, tax advisors, or financing partners are a plus.
- Very good German and English language skills; further language skills are an advantage.
- Structured, independent, and solution-oriented way of working, with enjoyment in consulting and networking.
- Ability to explain complex financing issues clearly and to approach both sides of the matching process with appreciation and patience.
