About the Role

The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) is seeking a motivated Associate Researcher or Researcher for its Fuels program. This role involves conducting research and analysis on low-GHG energy alternatives for the marine, aviation, and road transport sectors, with a focus on EU policies. The position requires developing policy recommendations and communicating findings to various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Analyze the cost, life-cycle GHG emissions, and availability of low-GHG renewable fuels.
Write clear and concise technical reports, policy briefs, and articles.
Present findings in public and private forums.
Collaborate effectively with the ICCT’s global Fuels team, EU colleagues, and external partners.

Requirements

Associate Researcher: Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, biology, chemistry, ecology, engineering, environmental policy or related discipline, plus at least two years of related experience, OR a PhD degree.
Researcher: Master's or PhD degree in engineering, environmental science, environmental policy, energy and resources, or another relevant subject, plus at least three years of related experience.
Excellent research and quantitative skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Excel.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Highly organized, self-directed, creative, and strategic in problem-solving.
Availability for occasional work travel, mostly within the EU.
Fluency in English (required).
Experience with life-cycle assessment and/or techno-economic analyses (desired).
Python or R skills (desired).
Other European languages (desired).
