About the Role
We are seeking a Director of Strategic Finance, a proactive individual who combines analytical depth with strategic insight. Reporting to the SVP, Strategy & Operations, you will partner with leadership to guide financial planning, modeling, and decision-making during a period of company scaling. This role involves shaping company strategy, owning growth-driving models, and translating insights into impact, offering significant autonomy and visibility.
Responsibilities
- Drive strategic planning through financial forecasting, long-term modeling, and scenario planning.
- Partner with the Chief of Staff and executive team to align resources with company priorities, OKRs, and expansion plans.
- Build actionable insights connecting financial outcomes to key drivers like CAC, LTV, and contribution margin.
- Assess new channels, partnerships, and products using ROI-focused scenario analysis.
- Drive external and internal communications via investor decks, board materials, and internal updates.
- Design dashboards and analytical frameworks to ensure financial performance transparency.
- Identify and implement strategies to enhance margins, unit economics, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Growth, Ops, Product, and HR to ensure accountability and financial clarity.
- Support special projects such as pricing optimization, fundraising preparation, or retail expansion.
- Streamline reporting cadences, month-end close processes, and data integrity across systems.
- Manage external relationships with accountants, tax advisors, and finance vendors.
- Facilitate timely, efficient, and accurate month-end close with the external bookkeeper.
- Collaborate with external tax accountants to manage federal and state tax obligations.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, private equity, or consulting, with a preference for exposure to DTC, consumer, or healthcare/medtech.
- Proven ability to build and maintain complex models that support decision-making.
- Deep understanding of unit economics, cohort analysis, and customer lifetime value dynamics.
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable narratives.
- A bias toward action, with the ability to identify problems, propose solutions, and execute.
- Comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Proficiency with modern finance and analytics tools such as Looker, SQL, Brex, BILL.com, NetSuite, or similar.
