About the Role
Curative is seeking a pharmacy technician to provide operational support for processing and filling prescriptions, and managing inventory in a non-retail environment. This role will ensure the pharmacy runs smoothly and provide excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Assists Pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the state board of Pharmacy
- Performs designated tasks regarding pharmacy quality control, management of pharmacy records, inventory control and preparation of orders for drugs
- Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules and regulations including machinery and work areas
- Applies computer troubleshooting and prescription application overview
- Maintains automated prescription processing equipment (E.g. Kirby Lester, ScriptPro, etc.) including calibration, stocking, maintenance, proper report execution
- Answers incoming phone calls and respond to needs of caller
- Packs and ships completed prescriptions including printing and affixing appropriate labels on dispenser and shipping boxes
- Works adhering to US regulatory and Quality System requirements (21 CFR 820, etc)
- Ensures privacy and confidentiality of Personal Health Information (PHI) as required by HIPAA; ensures proper procedures are followed related to prescription delivery to member
- Assumes and performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Experience with an online prescription system
- Knowledge of medication and dosage measurements
- Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology (SIG codes, brand, generic names of medications)
- Outstanding organization skills and keen eye for detail
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Proficient with MS Office applications- Word, Power Point, Excel, and Access
