About the Role

La Scuola seeks an English Language Literacy Specialist to support English Literacy in grades K - 5 for the upcoming school year starting September 1, 2025. The individual will be an integral part of our Teaching and Student Support teams and will be responsible for developing the English Language curriculum for students in Kindergarten through Grade 2 and supporting English language learning at the Elementary level.

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and provides instruction in English across elementary grades, ensuring alignment with the instructional program to meet or exceed learning targets.
Develops and delivers lesson plans using differentiated techniques to enhance reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
Addresses learning strategies, study skills, developmental issues, executive function, and social-emotional wellness.
Administers academic and language assessments to evaluate student progress and maintains accurate records.
Provides a nurturing, supportive, and positive learning environment with high expectations.
Collaborates with homeroom teachers to connect English literacy with units of inquiry and Italian language.
Engages in weekly co-teaching, including small group and station work.
Plans and delivers literacy interventions for individual and small groups in collaboration with the Student Success Group and Pedagogical Team.
Performs other duties as assigned by the school.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's degree in Education or a related field.
3-5 years of teaching experience.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Must provide documentation to prove eligibility to work in the United States.
Must pass Criminal Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance.
Must pass a physical exam.
Must provide a recent copy of a negative TB test and other immunization records.
Must include a cover letter and résumé (translated into English) when applying.
Must be prepared to share three professional references and a teaching demonstration.

Skills

Experience in bilingual education, International Baccalaureate and Reggio Emilia philosophies is a plus.
Fluency in Italian and/or Spanish is a plus.
