About the Role

Orbital is seeking an exceptional Lead Talent Partner to own the strategy, attraction, and hiring of top Product Engineers and Design Engineers in a competitive market. This role is crucial for the company's scaling chapter, focusing on building a market-leading attraction engine and a repeatable hiring system.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Product & Design Engineering hiring strategy in partnership with the CTO.
  • Build and own a forward hiring plan, including forecasting, sequencing, and prioritization.
  • Manage the hiring plan and reporting within the ATS.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on market intelligence, compensation, org design, interview plans, and funnel health.
  • Design and run a high-touch, always-on engagement and nurture engine for top talent.
  • Partner with leadership and marketing to create standout content and outreach materials.
  • Establish targets and report on pipeline health and learning loops.
  • Personally own the hiring for senior and business-critical Product Engineering roles.
  • Protect the quality bar for assessment, references, and offer calibration.
  • Set the operating rhythm for pipeline reviews, prioritization, and stakeholder alignment.

Requirements

  • Proven track record hiring in a high-growth tech scaleup with high standards and ambiguity.
  • Deep immersion in the Product & Design Engineering market with a credible, active network in the UK.
  • Experience running meetups and building communities.
  • Evidence of closing low-volume, high-calibre engineers via creative, non-standard routes.
  • Experience building always-on engagement motions that convert exceptional people over time.
  • Experience partnering closely with technical leadership to define quality, design assessment, and calibrate the bar.
  • Strong written narrative and messaging skills to translate technical stories into compelling outreach.
  • Ability to use metrics as feedback loops for quality and funnel health.
  • All roles require background screening.
