About the Role
The Marine Associate Underwriter will underwrite a Marine and Energy book of business, involving marketing, risk analysis, and setting contract terms. The role aims to produce business and achieve underwriting profit for the company. Training will be provided for insurance professionals new to the marine industry.
Responsibilities
- Market and produce accounts.
- Understand Marine and Energy exposures.
- Price accounts and select appropriate policy forms.
- Ensure business is written within reinsurance guidelines.
- Write a growing profitable book of business.
- Assist with brokerage operations.
- Build strong working relationships with the Worldwide Marine market and brokers in the East Coast, Midwest, and Gulf Coast regions.
- Work as a team member with the USA Marine Team in NY.
- Understand, control, and monitor the aggregation of exposures globally.
- Analyze risks.
- Set proper terms and conditions, including pricing, to achieve underwriting profit.
- Work within the parameters of the reinsurance treaty.
- Complete introductory courses through The American Institute of Marine Underwriters.
- Attend Marine and industry-related conferences and trainings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary/Compensations
- $65,000 - $80,000
