About the Role
We are seeking a Process Piping Designer with over 5 years of experience to join our dynamic team. You will provide design solutions for industries including biopharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, chemical, and food & beverage. Your responsibilities will include generating P&IDs, creating 3D models, and developing detailed drawings.
Responsibilities
- Support Project Teams as a Piping Designer, developing process piping designs in a 3D CAD environment and coordinating with other trades.
- Integrate new design technologies into workflows.
- Incorporate 2D & 3D red line markups into Revit, AutoCAD, or AutoCAD Plant 3D.
- Develop 3D component families (valves, instruments, pipe fittings, etc.).
- Independently develop 2D or 3D piping plans, models, and arrangements starting from P&IDs.
- Input valve, instrument, and piping component information into database systems.
- Generate, review, and maintain databases and lists for lines, valves, and instruments.
- Perform clash detection and coordination reviews with other disciplines.
- Facilitate coordination between disciplines around process equipment needs and facility limitations.
- Perform field observations and measurements to document existing conditions and model them in CAD.
- Assist engineers in selecting piping system components.
- Assist engineers in developing specifications for piping systems.
- Develop 3D renderings and visualization models.
- Develop supporting process and process related design documents.
- Perform quality control reviews of process related drawings and lists.
Requirements
- General understanding of project document production.
- Experience with 3D environment.
- Proficient with Autodesk products: Revit, AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, AutoCAD P&ID and/or Plant 3D.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs to develop corresponding piping plans.
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting.
- Ability to manage effort on multiple projects on separate timelines.
- Ability to effectively communicate progress and assistance needed to Senior Designers and Engineers.
