About the Role

The Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) team is expanding with ambitious growth plans, targeting £3-£4bn of new business annually from 2027. This role supports the origination and execution of buy-ins, buyouts, and other de-risking transactions for UK Defined Benefit pension schemes, leveraging M&G's unique position as both an insurer and asset manager.

Responsibilities

  • Support the marketing, origination, and execution of new bulk annuities and de-risking opportunities, taking ownership of assigned activities.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders, and support ad-hoc queries and relationship management.
  • Engage with the Employee Benefit Consultant (EBC) and Professional Trustee market, preparing timely responses to queries and surveys.
  • Coordinate colleagues and outsourcing partners to integrate commercial, investment, longevity, pricing, legal, and structuring workstreams into client propositions.
  • Develop a strong understanding of novel bulk annuity transaction structures, reinsurance solutions, and new product lines.
  • Support the production of high-quality deliverables for clients and internal stakeholders, including presentations, quotations, and contractual responses.

Requirements

  • Commercially minded with strong technical skills, attention to detail, and ability to produce high-quality client deliverables.
  • Understanding of bulk annuity transactions or experience in a closely aligned/client-facing role is beneficial.
  • Willingness and ability to build expertise in the market.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate activities across stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and understand client needs.
  • Ambitious and self-motivated with the ability to use initiative and work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to prioritize workload effectively to cater for multiple competing deadlines.
