About the Role
Apollo is seeking a motivated investment professional for its Private Equity team in Japan. This role involves leading due diligence, managing deal processes, and contributing to strategic dialogue by identifying and mitigating risks.
Responsibilities
- Performing company and industry due diligence
- Financial modeling and analysis of various capital structures
- Reviewing legal documentation and closing logistics
- Working with external due diligence advisors
- Monitoring existing portfolio companies, evaluating acquisitions, and assisting with exit alternatives
- Applying advanced financial principles to perform extensive company and industry due diligence
- Analyzing business performance trends to identify investment opportunities
- Collecting and examining financial information to assist in deal financing and advise on investment strategies
- Constructing and running detailed financial models and interpreting gathered data
- Drafting and presenting materials regarding potential investments and economic trends to investment committee meetings
- Support cross platform projects and development
Requirements
- 2-5 years of relevant prior experience in an investment banking, capital markets, or buy-side role
- Familiarity and strong interest in general industrial sectors is a plus
- Ability to work both constructively and independently in small team settings
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese
- Nimble and flexible to balance multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Personal interest in investing desired but not required
