About the Role

Dillon's Physical Hydrogeology group is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to join our team in any Dillon office, supporting junior staff and leading hydrogeological assessments and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support junior and intermediate hydrogeologists and environmental scientists in hydrogeological assessments, landfill assessments, water budget assessments, construction dewatering assessments and permitting, environmental site assessments, and remediation projects.
  • Design and implement environmental investigations, remedial action plans, and site remediation options.
  • Collaborate with technical and professional staff and sub-consultants on assignments.
  • Develop and coordinate client relationships and business growth in Ontario, including proposal writing, business development, and client management.
  • Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.
  • Undertake business travel to other Dillon offices upon request.
  • Commit to self-development and ongoing learning.
  • Drive continuous learning and mentor junior and intermediate staff in data science and digital project delivery methodologies.
  • Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice as Professional Engineer or Geoscientist in the province of Ontario, or eligible to be licensed within six months.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and coordination of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Prospective employees are expected to fully align with Dillon's core commitment to Health & Safety, including active engagement with processes and reporting of hazards.

  • Construction dewatering assessments including Permit to Take Water and the Environmental Activity and Sector Registry
  • Local, Provincial and Federal regulations, permitting and approvals processes
  • Numerical groundwater flow and contaminant transport modelling (MODFLOW and FEFLOW proficiency is an asset)
  • Client relationships in mining, public sector, land development, and Indigenous communities (developed relationships are an asset)
  • Data science
  • Digital project delivery methodologies
