About the Role
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking database engineers passionate about data warehousing to join the Amazon Redshift team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a disruptive, early-stage product that revolutionizes database computing in the cloud and leverages the scale of cloud resources. You will help customers with database design, usage patterns, and performance in the fast-growing big data space.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic data architecture & database design discussions with customers
- Drive and oversee workload analysis, performance benchmarking and troubleshooting efforts with customers
- Clearly communicate deep technical topics to customers
- Influence the engineering team roadmap towards building a scalable, easy-to-use product that addresses customer needs
- Conduct POC’s with customers in competitive situations
- Leverage coding/scripting skills to automate tasks and improve workload analysis mechanisms
Requirements
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of database or data warehouse systems internals including relational database design and distributed databases/MPP architectures
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field or equivalent
- Experience in software development, or experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
