About the Role

Responsible for generating new and repeat banquet and catering sales; actively networking and promoting the brand within the community for both Markham and Downtown Toronto locations.

Responsibilities

  • Generate sales leads outside of the restaurant using telephone, email, cold calls, mailings, and event attendance.
  • Create community networks (e.g., hotel concierges, Chamber of Commerce) to promote the brand and build sales.
  • Enter and track prospect contact information in Tripleseat for frequent follow-up.
  • Communicate brand, facility, and menu offerings persuasively, upselling when appropriate.
  • Follow up with potential guests to answer questions, address concerns, and secure commitments.
  • Meet with guests to showcase facilities, develop menus, and offer additional services.
  • Develop agreements, menus, and event orders through the Tripleseat system.
  • Ensure signed contracts clearly outline food/beverage minimums and cancellation policies.
  • Enter events in Open Table and review event schedules with hosts, updating details as confirmed.
  • Coordinate event menus with the Chef, ensuring inventory and item availability.
  • Coordinate room setup with managers and servers to meet guest expectations.
  • Call clients 24 hours prior to events to confirm final details and send follow-up emails.
  • Meet and greet parties upon arrival, review arrangements, and introduce them to staff.
  • Oversee event execution through entrée service to ensure proper timing and guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct post-event follow-up via phone and email to ensure a positive experience and inquire about repeat bookings.
  • Coordinate all bookings with the General Manager for maximum sales and profitability.
  • Create monthly calendars of contracted and pending events, communicating upcoming needs to managers and chefs.
  • Generate weekly Tripleseat reports for the team indicating upcoming events.
  • Create sales/marketing plans and coordinate execution with the management team.
  • Work with management to execute outside activities of the local store marketing plan.
  • Track banquet sales against prior year and budget using Tripleseat reports.
  • Forecast future sales and proactively seek new business to meet budget goals.
  • Send sales forecasts every Wednesday morning.
  • Participate in organizations and memberships that promote the restaurant and generate a measurable return on investment.
  • Actively pursue leads for Tourism Toronto City Wide convention lists 6-18 months in advance.

Requirements

  • Prior sales, customer service, and/or restaurant experience required.
  • Active involvement in trade organizations and/or networking outlets preferred.
  • Above average computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
