About the Role
A hands-on engineering role building and optimising scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and Lakehouse architectures across a modern multi-cloud platform using Python, Spark, Airflow, and dbt.
Responsibilities
- Build ETL/ELT pipelines (Python, SQL)
- Optimize Spark/PySpark jobs
- Manage Airflow DAGs
- Implement dbt transformations
- Design medallion-style architectures using S3 and modern table formats (Iceberg, Delta Lake) with optimized layouts
- Create reusable frameworks
- Enforce data contracts
- Build CI/CD pipelines
- Establish observability practices
- Implement validation frameworks, data contracts, and SLIs/SLOs for critical pipelines
Requirements
- 5+ years of data engineering experience
- Strong expertise in SQL
- CI/CD proficiency
- Data quality frameworks expertise
- Cloud technologies (S3, Athena, Redshift) experience
- Streaming and AI tooling experience is a plus
- Strong Python proficiency
- Advanced SQL proficiency
- Airflow proficiency
- Spark/PySpark proficiency
- dbt proficiency
- Experience with Lakehouse architectures
- Experience with dimensional modeling
- Experience with cloud data warehouses (S3, Athena, Redshift)
- Monitoring expertise
