About the Role
Barker Associates is seeking a Civil Technician to support the delivery of civil engineering design services across a range of projects. This role involves producing technical drawings, models, and design information while ensuring compliance with design standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Produce technical drawings, layouts, and design models using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Assist with the preparation of drainage strategies, infrastructure layouts, and levels designs.
- Support the production of technical calculations, schedules, and design documentation.
- Prepare project drawings and information for planning, tender, and construction issue.
- Undertake site visits and surveys to gather information and support project delivery.
- Work collaboratively with Civil Engineers and multidisciplinary teams to develop design solutions.
- Maintain drawing records and ensure documentation is accurate, coordinated, and up to date.
Requirements
- Must possess a full clean driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.
- Subject to a DBS Enhanced check.
Skills
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Civil 3D experience desirable
- Understanding of infrastructure design, drainage layouts, highways design, and site levels
- Awareness of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and surface water management principles
- Ability to produce accurate technical drawings, schedules, and supporting design information
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to technical work
- Ability to work collaboratively with Civil Engineers, Technicians, and multidisciplinary design teams
- Willingness to develop technical skills and progress within the civil engineering profession
