About the Role
We are building an AI-first engineering organization where engineers increasingly design systems, orchestrate agents, and build the tools that build features, rather than writing most code by hand. This role is a capability hire focused on increasing engineering velocity and capability through exceptional systems thinking and agentic leverage.
Responsibilities
- Design exceptional systems from first principles, owning technical design for complex problems.
- Build agents, subagents, software, and workflows that allow AI to take on significantly more of the implementation process.
- Own products end-to-end, from problem discovery through to production.
- Orchestrate AI agentic workflows to create genuine engineering leverage.
- Create 10x team leverage by building systems and tools that increase the output of others.
- Challenge the roadmap, identifying new ideas and technical opportunities.
- Contribute to product and technical direction.
- Lead technical decisions within your area.
- Increase the team's delivery velocity.
- Identify valuable opportunities not obvious to the existing team.
Requirements
- Exceptional systems thinking: ability to understand complex systems and design excellent solutions from first principles.
- Deeply AI-native engineering: AI has materially changed how you engineer, potentially building your own agents, internal developer tooling, or automating development processes.
- Exceptional hands-on engineering: ability to personally take a project from zero through architecture, implementation, and into production.
- Strong product instinct: questioning assumptions, identifying opportunities, understanding the user/problem, and contributing to what gets built.
- Outstanding communication: ability to explain technically sophisticated ideas in simple language.
- Ability to create clarity from ambiguity.
- Willingness to challenge established thinking.
- Ability to understand complicated systems, identify the real problem, and design elegant solutions from first principles.
- Ability to build systems that make the entire team more capable.
- Ability to deliver valuable things into production significantly faster.
- Ability to identify valuable problems and opportunities rather than simply implementing an existing roadmap.
