About the Role
Moonfare delivers sought-after funds and investments in private markets, subjecting every opportunity to a rigorous vetting process to create institutional-quality portfolios. We are seeking a Data Engineer to build and scale our data platform, powering AI Agents, BI, and business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data pipelines from ingestion through to storage
- Take end-to-end ownership of pipeline components
- Model data using data lake and warehouse concepts, and contribute to performance improvements
- Apply data governance and security practices
- Support the team with data quality, coding consistency and data availability
- Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into working data solutions
- Identify, formulate, and propose improvements to own and team's practices
Requirements
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines in production
- Strong Python and advanced SQL skills
- Basic Scala experience, or a willingness to pick it up
- Excellent domain of Java or C# (if not Scala)
- Familiarity with DBT (models, tests, documentation)
- Solid working knowledge of AWS or another major cloud provider
- Experience with relational databases and data warehouses
- Confident in Git, CI/CD, and modern deployment practices
- Practical experience with Docker
- Solution-oriented, strong attention to detail, and open to feedback and mentorship
