About the Role
We, the Small Animal Specialists Berlin-Brandenburg, are dedicated to treating our patients with the same care and gentleness as our own pets, utilizing state-of-the-art medical technology and specialized expertise. Our veterinary clinic for dogs and cats specializes in areas such as surgery/orthopedics, internal medicine, and cardiology. As a referral center, we work interdisciplinarily with a large number of interesting and challenging patients. To support our growing team, we are seeking a Veterinary Assistant (m/f/d) with a focus on surgery/anesthesia, either part-time or full-time.
Responsibilities
- Independent, self-responsible work within the OR team, including placing IV catheters, administering premedication, intubation, and preparing/positioning patients for surgery, CT, and MRI diagnostics.
- Anesthesia and monitoring using modern human medical equipment.
- Instrument reprocessing and hygiene measures.
- Emergency management.
- Assisting in endoscopic (laser) procedures and scintigraphy.
- Applying all types of bandages.
- Post-operative care until ward handover or outpatient discharge.
- Preparation and follow-up of instruments, equipment, and rooms.
- Taking X-rays.
- Participating in shift work and on-call duty.
Requirements
- Completed vocational training as a veterinary assistant or veterinary medical assistant.
- Enjoyment of teamwork with colleagues and veterinarians.
- Motivation and a positive attitude.
- Interest in a long-term position and personal development.
- Desirable: Certified further training in anesthesia.
