About the Role
Act as the Country Manager’s commercial deputy, leading PayPal Australia’s commercial plan and translating BU strategy into initiatives that drive revenue, merchant growth and customer adoption. Working with the Country Manager and cross-functional team, you will develop a market plan with targets, priorities and KPIs. You will lead execution of merchant opportunities, product launches and go-to-market initiatives, ensuring accountability and resolution of blockers. You will assess opportunities, identify risks and recommend trade-offs, including resource allocation within approved budgets. As the voice of the Australian market, you will provide central GTM and business-unit leaders with insights on merchant, consumer and sales trends, converting intelligence into action. You will lead market pipeline and performance cadence, define portfolio strategy, manage escalations, align priorities, research opportunities, engage partners, oversee delivery of product and platform capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Design and define the portfolio strategy for an identified country, supporting the execution of local product priorities, and analyzing and interpreting product performance.
- Implement hands-on execution coordination of local and global cross functional initiatives.
- Manage process escalations to remove obstacles for the strategy execution while proposing and supporting change implementation to strategy.
- Collaborate and define priorities based on global commercial product strategy.
- Research new opportunities and establish and negotiate new partnerships.
- Engage with ongoing partners regularly, improving relationships and operational efficiencies.
- Direct, set, and define customized market/regional specific product and technology strategies.
- Manage stakeholder relationships and oversee the delivery of key product and platform infrastructures.
- Set strategic direction and roadmap to enhance product experience and business metrics.
Requirements
- 8+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Partnering with our Country Manager, local Product / Marketing / Sales, GROE, Central GTM, and BU leadership (via the escalation path), you will bring 6–9+ years’ experience in commercial, Go To Market, revenue strategy or sales leadership, strong financial acumen, cross-functional influence and stakeholder management skills.
