About the Role

As an Assistant Consultant or Consultant, Healthcare Strategy and Planning (HS+P), you will join an established post within the WSP Healthcare Strategy & Planning team. You will help grow and develop strategic healthcare planning as a leading-edge offering to external clients, including NHS organisations and private sector clients in the UK and overseas. Your role is client-facing, and you will be expected to contribute to the team in developing healthcare strategy and planning expertise, processes, and procedures to ensure quality-assured service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and perform healthcare strategy and planning advisory services of varying breadth and scope, working as part of a team.
  • Contribute to and provide support in preparing tender responses.
  • Deliver presentations for new business opportunities.
  • Undertake technical inputs as required for individual projects including strategic analysis, demand and capacity modelling, models of care, clinical and functional briefing, schedules of accommodation and design reviews.
  • Support the delivery of a wide range of projects related to clinical and operational strategy development, clinical and operational health services and facilities planning, employing tools and methods developed by WSP.
  • Interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels within client organisations in meetings and workshops.
  • Contribute to or lead clinical stakeholder engagement sessions.
  • Write reports, briefs, and contributions to business cases.
  • Employ models to assess health service needs and demands at various levels and scales.
  • Help clients investigate the needs of their services, develop solutions, review and assess options.
  • Keep abreast of trends and research healthcare planning topics.
  • Help investigate key lines of enquiry arising out of projects.
  • Contribute to projects in all parts of the globe, developing an understanding of local cultures and practices.
  • Share best practice observations across regions and deliver healthcare strategy and planning solutions tailored to local needs, practices and priorities.
  • Be part of a multi-disciplinary team and help colleagues manage the team’s workload.
  • Develop processes and procedures to provide a quality-assured service for clients.
  • Manage your workload and inputs into individually owned projects.
  • Contribute as a team member to larger commissions.
  • Monitor personal inputs contributing to high-quality project deliverables and outcomes.
  • Contribute to new business development and bid and tender preparation.
  • Contribute to the Health and Life Sciences Advisory business target as part of the HS+P team.
