About the Role
The IT Security Engineer will be responsible for ensuring IT security in network, client, and telephony areas, coordinating with external service providers like SOC/MOC, handling security incidents, and implementing security policies. A key focus will be on managing and developing Privileged Access Management and Privileged Access Workstation solutions (PAM/PAW) to protect sensitive access and systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform vulnerability analyses and patch management in a hybrid cloud environment with Windows and Linux.
- Ensure SLAs and escalation processes in the security environment.
- Participate in service reviews and threat intelligence rounds.
- Support operations in designing secure automation solutions in Azure and Azure-Local environments.
- Integrate security solutions into operational processes.
- Utilize tools such as Tennable Nessus, XDR, Splunk, and CheckMK agents.
- Process security incidents, analyze alerts, and create remediation measures.
- Document security incidents and develop technical solutions for prevention.
- Coordinate service providers and act as a point of contact for the Security Operations Center and Monitoring Operations Center.
- Maintain communication matrices and escalation levels.
- Define roles and responsibilities in incident handling.
- Participate in process optimization workshops.
Requirements
- Completed degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable qualification.
- Basic knowledge of IT security, network technologies, and client management.
- Initial experience with security tools (e.g., SIEM, Vulnerability Management, PAM/PAW).
- Understanding of ITIL processes and incident management.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate external partners.
- Analytical thinking and structured work approach.
- Willingness for further training in IT security.
- Knowledge of network infrastructures.
- Experience with threat intelligence and risk assessment.
- Basic knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Fluent German language skills at least at C1 level as the primary working language.
