About the Role
Develop Clearstream Banking's funds business in Japan, growing a portfolio of local relationships with financial institutions, intermediaries, investors, and asset managers. Drive incremental revenue generation and client engagement as a key part of a growing regional commercial team, contributing to Deutsche Börse Group's overall strategy.
Responsibilities
- Promote, market, and grow the funds product offering in Japan to new and existing clients.
- Manage a pipeline of prospective clients and originate new revenue across services.
- Devise and execute a sales and marketing strategy in Japan, incorporating global funds initiatives.
- Build working relationships with key stakeholders and influencers across the client base.
- Ensure timely resolution of contractual, commercial, or operational issues.
- Prepare and implement documentation in line with internal compliance, credit, legal, and audit requirements, including full responsibility for AML/KYC.
- Ensure prospects are turned into satisfied customers through quick and efficient migration.
- Build an account plan for each customer, positioning the value proposition as the market model of the future and ensuring all client levels are covered.
- Represent Clearstream at external events and organize/contribute to regional client events.
- Maintain professional knowledge, staying updated on market updates, industry developments, and competitor activities.
Requirements
- University degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or another relevant subject.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation skills, customer service, and focus.
- Excellent track record of managing large and strategic client relationships.
- Strong understanding of banking services and processes in the Japanese funds industry.
- Ability to act independently and work well as a regional team player.
- Occasional travel will be expected.
- Proficiency in English and Japanese is mandatory.
- Other Asian languages are a plus.
