About the Role
Join IAHD’s mission to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives. Help shape innovative programs that support inclusion, creativity, and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Design and manage a proactive maintenance schedule that keeps equipment running and minimizes disruptions.
- Train staff in basic maintenance—plastering, painting, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment, tools, and facilities.
- Tackle maintenance issues head-on and make timely, quality repairs.
- Maintain logs of all repairs, inspections, inventory, and compliance reports.
- Work closely with service providers to manage outside repairs and maintenance needs.
- Delegate tasks, ensure quality control, and implement work schedules.
- Travel across various IAHD sites in the Bronx and Westchester to support facility needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance coordination/supervision
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and respond to emergencies—even outside regular hours
- Must be fully vaccinated (COVID-19)
