About the Role
Cactus Life Sciences partners with global biopharma to drive innovation and improve patient outcomes through agile, science-driven medical communications, transforming complex data into actionable insights. This is a remote-first organization with an "accelerate from anywhere culture".
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality scientific, medical, and educational materials (slides, abstracts, posters, manuscripts, congress materials, literature reviews) with attention to detail.
- Review materials developed by scientific writers, provide constructive feedback, and offer support and supervision.
- Mentor and train scientific writers by sharing best practices and client preferences.
- Act as a document specialist, provide intellectual input, and make research accessible to specific audiences.
- Maintain awareness of developments across therapeutic areas or disciplines.
- Build professional relationships with international pharmaceutical clients, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with team members, authors, clients, and vendors.
- Attend workshops, seminars, and trainings to enhance skills.
- Attend client and external meetings and support senior team members.
- Apply scientific and creative knowledge to develop digital medical communication initiatives (publication extenders, infographics, interactive assets, website content, patient narratives, medical information engagement plans).
- Ensure all materials comply with client requirements, SOPs, style guides, and templates.
- Contribute to skill development within the medical communications team by sharing best practices and client preferences.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in publications within a pharma company or medical communications agency.
- PhD/MD (Pharmacology) OR PhD (Life Sciences) OR PharmD with a good understanding of clinical research and medical communication.
- Clear, concise, scientific writing style with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to adapt writing style to different materials and target audiences.
- Literature reviewing and evaluation capabilities.
- Very good working knowledge of MS Office.
- Basic knowledge of biostatistics.
- Eagerness to learn and apply AI tools and technologies.
- Legal authorization to work in the country where the role is advertised.
