About the Role
We are searching for Water Engineers to support and grow our team in Rochester, NY. Collaborating with experienced Water Professionals, you will support project development, interact with clients, and enhance your technical capabilities. Arcadis provides onboarding and development programs for young professionals to support growth and drive innovation.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, plan, design, and support management of water/wastewater treatment and conveyance projects, including pipelines, treatment facilities, and pumping facilities.
- Exercise judgment on intricate work details and make preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
- Conduct fieldwork, including site visits, construction inspections, sample collection, water quality analysis, asset inventory, flow monitoring system setup and monitoring, technology evaluations, and plant operations information gathering.
- Support professional engineering services during the construction phase, including construction observation, shop drawing review, responding to RFIs, and ensuring permit closeouts.
- Coordinate with manufacturer’s representatives and contractors.
- Support Asset Management projects by performing data analytics, operational and organizational assessments, condition assessments, and overall performance evaluations of water/wastewater/stormwater facilities.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and cost estimates, and participate in client meetings.
Requirements
- BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6-months
- Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and team-oriented, with the ability to work successfully both independently and within a team.
- Flexible attitude towards assignments, with the initiative and ability to take on new projects and other challenges regularly.
- Dependability and an eagerness to take ownership of tasks.
- Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to water/wastewater/stormwater.
