About the Role

Clifford Chance ACCESS is a pioneering two-year development programme designed to provide fair access to work experience in the legal sector, regardless of background. It consists of ten components focused on personal and professional development, culminating in the opportunity to apply for the SPARK programme which may lead to a Training Contract.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a launch event at our London office.
  • Receive support and training on how to make the most of a dedicated mentor relationship.
  • Gain insights into the firm's work, clients, and the legal sector through a combination of virtual and in-person sessions.
  • Develop core business skills critical to professional success.
  • Spend five days with five different companies in the summer of 2028, participating in workshops and developing career insights and skills.
  • Receive executive coaching, group sessions, and 1:1 sessions with the Early Talent Acquisition Team.
  • Participate in various networking opportunities throughout the programme.

Requirements

  • Must be in Year 12 (England and Wales), S5 (Scotland) or Lower Sixth (Northern Ireland).
  • Must meet two or more of the following criteria: attending a state-funded, non fee-paying school/college from age 11; no parent or guardian attended university; receipt of free school meals, Pupil Premium, Education Maintenance Allowance and/or a 16 to 19 Bursary; attending a school/college with below average A-level/Higher point score and/or low progression to higher education; have been or currently in local authority care for three months or longer; be or have been a full-time or part-time carer; came to the UK as a refugee or asylum seeker; main household earner's occupation at age 14 was in a lower socioeconomic group.
  • Young people who meet the local authority care criterion do not need to meet any other criterion.
  • No specific experiences or legal knowledge are required prior to applying.
