About the Role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Technical Consulting Engineer with specialized knowledge and skills to review customer software requirements, assess risks associated with software upgrades, analyze potential impacts on customer networks, and recommend optimal software releases. This role involves detailed analysis of software defects, evaluation of their impact and risks, and providing comprehensive reports tailored to customer hardware, software, and feature configurations.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate software upgrade requirements, including customer-provided HPE Juniper Networking product software, hardware, and feature requirements.
  • Determine appropriate software releases based on current hardware, features, future requirements, performance, high availability, and past issue resolution.
  • Analyze target software releases to assess potential impacts on customer networks, including new features, changes in default behavior, and syntax changes.
  • Provide information on software defects relevant to the target release and customer network profile, including content, impact, known triggers, and proposed fixes or workarounds.
  • Perform detailed analysis of software defects, evaluating potential impact on the network based on customer-specific business and network requirements, and classifying defects as Critical, Major, Minor, or None.
  • Assess the exposure probability of identified defects and provide recommendations to avoid potential issues.
  • Provide comprehensive recommendations for HPE Juniper Networking product software upgrades based on analysis results.
  • Deliver reports summarizing software upgrade evaluation, target software analysis, and recommended changes/improvements.
  • Analyze software defects relevant to customer installed network profiles.
  • Determine the potential impact level (Critical, Major, Minor, None) of each defect based on customer-specific business and network requirements.
  • Provide detailed analysis reports including defect content, impact, known triggers, and recommended fixes or workarounds.
  • Ensure service deliverables are provided remotely from an HPE-certified location in Japan.
  • Provide all deliverables in Japanese unless otherwise specified.
  • Adhere to service provision hours of Monday to Friday, 9:00-17:30 (local time), excluding HPE-designated holidays.
  • Collaborate closely with customers to gather information and related materials for efficient service delivery.
  • Participate in regular customer meetings and review sessions to explain deliverables and analysis results.
  • Provide technical support and expert knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Native-level Japanese reading, writing, and speaking proficiency.
  • Deep knowledge of networking-related software and hardware products.
  • Experience in network infrastructure design and software development processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication skills to clearly and effectively convey technical information.
  • Presentation skills to explain issues and problems clearly.
  • Ability to act proactively, pay attention to detail, and work both independently and as part of a team.
