About the Role
The Information Technology Office (ITO) is responsible for IT functions, science enablement, and library services. The Design and Delivery team manages a portfolio of technology projects to achieve business outcomes aligned with the Crick Strategy. This role will manage ITO projects across Science and Operations, leading the project lifecycle and ensuring timely implementation of technology outcomes. It suits a self-starter who can manage multiple projects, identify and resolve issues, and collaborate with stakeholders. The role also involves supporting the prioritization, planning, and tracking of the wider project portfolio within ITO by gathering and analyzing project information.
Responsibilities
- Delivery of a broad range of ITO projects, covering different technologies
- Working with project stakeholders, keeping them engaged and informed through appropriate collaboration, reporting and governance channels
- Managing third-party vendors and system implementation partners where required
- Managing the ITO Project pipeline, working with stakeholders and technical teams across ITO to track and prioritise a portfolio of projects, including plans, resources and forecasts
Requirements
- Demonstrate previous experience of working as a Project manager, managing technical and business change projects
- Create and maintain project lifecycle documents according to need e.g. project definition, project plans, milestone tracking, RAID logs, project closure, lessons learned
- Work on multiple projects concurrently, varying in size and complexity
- Need a good understanding of technical concepts e.g. identity management, software development, technical infrastructure
- Experience of matrix-managing cross-functional project teams (IT and non-IT)
- Working with and implementing recognised IT change process, e.g. ITIL and software development lifecycle
