About the Role
This freelance position is ideal for candidates with experience in catering, banquet service, restaurant work, or event hospitality who enjoy working in fast-paced, professional event environments. Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing service areas
- Set up tables
- Organize linens
- Provide professional service during events, including passing hors d'oeuvres, assisting with plated dinners, and helping at buffet or food stations
- Ensure guests have an exceptional experience
- Work closely with other servers, kitchen staff, and event supervisors
- Assist with breakdown, clearing tables, and packing equipment
- Oversee service teams, coordinate with kitchen and event leads, and ensure service flows smoothly (for Event Supervisor roles)
Requirements
- Reliable and professional demeanor
- Comfortable working in hospitality or catering
- Previous experience in restaurant service, fine dining, catering, or banquet environments strongly preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move catering equipment as needed
- Effective communication skills
- Reliable transportation to events across the GTA required
- Professional appearance: black dress pants, black long-sleeve shirt, black tie, black socks, and non-slip shoes
