About the Role

We are seeking an Editorial Process Manager for Heliyon, an all-science, open access, Cell Press journal. You will coordinate the flow of new and revised manuscripts from submission through publication while supporting the quality, integrity, and efficiency of the editorial process. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with scientific literacy to begin or develop a career in scientific publishing within a global and collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Assess newly submitted manuscripts for ethical and scientific compliance, and completeness.
  • Review accepted manuscripts for adherence to publishing and ethical standards.
  • Spot-check external academic editor performance and provide structured feedback.
  • Support technical queries from external editors.
  • Contribute to systematic chasing of pending tasks and backlog management.
  • Assist in the editorial process as required by journal evolution.

Requirements

  • Possess a BSc degree (or equivalent) in life, medical, social, or physical sciences.
  • Demonstrate an enthusiastic, proactive attitude with great analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Adapt to change, handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and prioritize individually.
  • Exhibit great interpersonal skills within an international team.
  • Work effectively collaboratively or individually without continuous supervision in an ever-changing environment.
  • Be PC proficient with expertise in Microsoft Office (particularly Outlook and Excel).
