About the Role
Lendi Group is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary engineering team focused on designing, developing, and deploying AI systems for agentic AI Automation within the property buying, mortgage broking, and financial services sectors. You will work at the intersection of AI, data, software engineering, and financial services, building cutting-edge solutions to enhance operational efficiency and customer experiences. You will report to a newly formed team focused on AI-driven initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and support scalable data pipelines using modern data engineering practices and Agile delivery.
- Apply data analysis, data modeling, solution design, and architecture principles to deliver new solutions and enhance existing pipelines and models.
- Develop, test, and deploy cloud-based data warehouse solutions using technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, S3, and PostgreSQL, with ETL tools including dbt, Airflow, Spark, and Python.
- Utilize cloud infrastructure and CI/CD tooling (e.g., AWS, Terraform, Docker), with exposure to streaming data and AI/ML technologies (e.g., MLflow, SageMaker, Bedrock, LangChain) considered advantageous.
- Optimize data pipelines and BI solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability while implementing best practices across design, testing, documentation, and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with data governance standards and maintain high levels of data quality, accuracy, and completeness.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, contribute to design guides and training materials, and provide ongoing support for issue and incident resolution.
- Work closely with cross-functional Agile teams, data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions aligned to business needs.
- Mentor other engineers, contribute to engineering standards, and provide input into solution design and technical direction.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of data engineering experience with modern development practices.
- Proficiency in SQL with a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, Databricks) and experience with ETL tools and processes.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as SQL and Python.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling techniques.
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated experience or interest in AI, emerging technologies, and greenfield work.
