About the Role
Our Major Programme Services (MPS) team is looking for an exceptional Commercial & Procurement Specialist to play a pivotal role in executing complex projects across various industries. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative and innovative environment, shaping projects that drive meaningful impact.
Responsibilities
- Designing and running major procurements, including creating procurement and contracting strategies, commercial agreements, and market engagement strategies.
- Project managing and providing expert advice on the procurement process, including supplier engagement, tender evaluation, deal negotiation, and business case development.
- Advising on and implementing systems and processes for transitioning from legacy to new frameworks and contracts, and managing major contracts and associated business change.
- Reviewing client procurement and commercial team performance and leading programs to restructure the function and improve capability, including category management, supplier relationship management, and sustainable supply chains.
- Supporting renegotiation and improvement of agreements or resolution of major disputes.
- Providing effective commercial management for PA’s largest complex assignments with large collaborative teams.
Requirements
- Experience working with large and complex procurements in equipment, digital services, or infrastructure.
- Understanding of the procurement lifecycle, including procurement and commercial strategies, sourcing processes, tender evaluation, deal negotiation, and major contract management.
- Experience advising on contract terms and designing agreements to optimize market performance.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience managing multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with major government procurements, including approvals processes, is highly desired.
- Familiarity using NEC contract forms is an advantage.
- Project management or financial management skills are an advantage but can be learned.
