About the Role
We are seeking a builder who can take stated requirements and ship them as dashboards, automated pipelines, or real-time alerts. This role focuses on exposing what's happening across our platforms, tracking process flow, and identifying bottlenecks. It is closer to an automation and systems engineering role than classic business intelligence, requiring collaboration with the core engineering team and Automation Engineer to connect, clean, and automate our data ecosystem. The ultimate goal is to build the central data heart of THE/STUDIO, an AI-powered data engine for natural-language queries and automated, data-driven decisions.
Responsibilities
- Architect the AI Data Engine to support an AI-driven, natural-language query interface and automate operational decision-making.
- Build automated pipelines and dashboards where metrics populate automatically.
- Ship end-to-end solutions independently, translating raw requirements into working systems.
- Deploy real-time alerting systems to flag process breakdowns or deviations.
- Expose stage-by-stage system events to identify and fix operational bottlenecks.
- Engineer workflow automations linking data sources to reporting and alerting tools.
- Solve root-cause data issues at the source.
- Leverage AI tools as a core build accelerant.
- Create documentation enabling non-technical managers to use tools independently.
Requirements
- A builder and engineer mindset, comfortable navigating ambiguous problems through research, experimentation, and execution.
- Hands-on fluency with SQL and cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery or equivalent).
- Deep experience with BI dashboarding (e.g., Looker Studio) and workflow automation platforms (e.g., n8n, Make, or custom scripts).
- Proven track record of building and deploying functional tools from scratch.
- Heavy daily reliance on AI tools to accelerate development, write code, and build system prototypes.
- Comfortable talking directly to business leads to extract requirements without formal spec processes.
