About the Role
User Rights is Germany's first independent dispute resolution body for social media platforms, dedicated to protecting fundamental rights online. We are seeking an engaged Website Editorial & Operations Manager to join our team in Berlin and shape the legal framework of the digital space.
Responsibilities
- Plan and maintain the editorial calendar, write and edit content in German and English, and publish independently.
- Coordinate translations and ensure editorial quality and consistency of content in German, English, French, and Italian.
- Manage ongoing publishing in the CMS (Sulu), conduct regular content audits, and resolve issues such as outdated content, broken links, or missing metadata.
- Monitor rankings and relevant metrics, identify optimization potential, and implement on-page and SEO measures.
- Serve as the central point of contact for SEO, brand, and marketing texts, developing tonality and making complex legal topics accessible.
- Coordinate editorial and operational content and editorial topics with internal teams and ensure reliable processes.
Requirements
- Relevant professional experience in content, online editorial, website management, or a comparable role.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to tailor content to different target audiences, formats, and communication goals.
- A good sense of tonality and enjoyment in consistently applying and developing an existing brand voice.
- Attention to detail, working meticulously and identifying linguistic, content, and operational optimization opportunities, implementing many independently.
- Practical experience with CMS and editorial calendars.
- Knowledge of content and on-page SEO fundamentals, and the ability to assess content performance using relevant metrics.
- Structured, self-directed, and reliable work ethic with the ability to coordinate topics across different teams.
- Native-level German language skills and fluent English proficiency, with the ability to independently write and edit high-quality texts in both languages.
- Experience with AI-supported editorial workflows, multilingual SEO, or a professional background in law, policy, or civic tech are advantageous but not required.
- French or Italian language skills are a plus.
