About the Role

Exolaunch is seeking a Test Engineer - Mechanical Space Systems to join their team. This role involves developing and executing tests for separation systems and satellite customers, contributing to real launch missions. The ideal candidate has a background in space technology, satellite launch, test engineering, and mechanism design, and is passionate about advancing the satellite industry.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute test campaigns for all Exolaunch products and customer satellites.
  • Analyze test data and write reports.
  • Develop integration and check-out procedures for launch site activities.
  • Design test fixtures and coordinate manufacturing with suppliers.
  • Ensure Exolaunch products comply with internal specifications, customer requirements, and applicable standards.
  • Travel to launch sites and international customer facilities to support technical operations.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
  • At least two years of experience in space hardware vibration testing and space standards (e.g. ECSS), particularly around mechanisms and structures.
  • Testing experience in other industries is also welcomed.
  • Experience in working hands-on with hardware.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Excellent technical communication skills.
  • Experience in working with CAD software such as Solidworks.
  • Positive and proactive self-starter attitude and ability to work in a highly integrated team setting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Flexibility for frequent travel, occasionally at short notice.
