About the Role

Senior Master Data Coordinator is a key position supporting the business foundation of Thermo Fisher Japan. Accurate and reliable master data impacts customer experience, sales, and operational efficiency. This role allows you to act as a key person supporting "business quality." You will work closely with the global team, with opportunities to challenge process improvements and system operation optimization tailored to the Japanese market. This is an ideal position for those who want to deepen their expertise in data management and broaden their careers.

Responsibilities

  • Register and manage various master data in core systems (SAP/Oracle) as the primary duty.
  • Register product master data accurately and promptly based on requests from product managers (approx. 420,000 items).
  • Register and change customer master and vendor master data according to SOPs based on applications from commercial departments or customers (approx. 47,000 accounts).
  • Maintain data quality with a high level of compliance, adhering to laws and SOPs.
  • Maintain and improve master data quality (data governance).
  • Perform regular data checks, corrections, and cleansing of unnecessary data.
  • Manage and continuously update/optimize SOPs for the responsible area.
  • Manage data synchronization with external systems (e.g., 3rd party systems) that link with core systems.
  • Collaborate with the global team to prevent issues arising from specific requirements of Japan's BtoB business.
  • Contribute to business improvement and system advancement.
  • Analyze complex operations and identify inefficient processes.
  • Improve operational efficiency by planning and executing improvement measures.
  • Participate in UAT as a Super User of the core system, improving quality and proposing improvements.
  • Promote team operations.
  • Collaborate with other members as part of a specialized team to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

  • Approximately 3 years of experience in supply chain or related operations.
  • Practical experience and knowledge of an ERP system or data management (E1, SAP preferred).
  • Business-level Japanese (N1 equivalent).
  • Basic English proficiency (able to read and write using tools).
  • Graduation from a four-year university or higher.
  • Customer service skills (phone and email).
  • Ability to achieve results through teamwork.
  • Ability to communicate proactively and collaborate smoothly in a specialized environment.
  • Practical skills in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) (MOS level preferred).
  • Experience or knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Master data management experience in SAP or Oracle ERP.
  • Expertise and experience in master data management.
  • Experience in business improvement.
  • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
