About the Role
As a Kraftwerker:in (Electrician or Mechanic) for power plant shift operations, you will contribute to the safe and reliable energy supply of Berlin. You will have the opportunity to actively support the energy transition and the transformation of facilities, gradually replacing fossil fuels.
Responsibilities
- Operate, control, and monitor power plant components.
- Analyze plant situations and conditions and report malfunctions.
- Work in a 5-group, 3-shift system.
- Clarify causes of damage and malfunctions and establish preventive measures.
- Supervise and monitor external companies and instruct them on their work.
- Conduct plant tours.
- Participate in new construction projects, including test runs and commissioning.
- Perform lockouts, monitor them, and create/issue work permits according to the work permit procedure.
Requirements
- Successfully completed vocational training in a metal, mechanical engineering, or electrical trade, preferably as a mechatronics technician, or completed training as a power plant operator.
- If you do not yet have power plant operator training, you will be further trained as a certified power plant operator (IHK) in the first few years of your employment.
- Fluent German language skills at least at C1 level as the main working language.
- Good knowledge of MS Office.
- Experience in power plant operations is desirable.
- High level of teamwork and communication skills, as well as resilience.
- Commitment, sense of responsibility, flexibility, and reliability.
- Analytical and structured thinking.
- Fit for shift work.
