About the Role

Rogers Communications is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to manage the accounting for and act as a subject matter expert on projects related to wireless equipment and associated transactions.

Responsibilities

Support wireless inventory reporting, controls, and associated transactions.
Perform month-end close for wireless equipment by collaborating with Finance Operations and other teams to ensure accurate and timely journal entries.
Complete complex account reconciliations by developing an in-depth understanding of accounting and relevant systems, documenting and explaining transactions.
Conduct detailed balance sheet variance analysis.
Provide evidence of compliance with SOX documentation and controls, updating them as needed.
Develop and enhance/automate processes, reporting, and controls.
Support wireless inventory policy reviews and maintenance for the Communications group.
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Retail Operations, and other teams on inventory-related transactions.
Take a leadership role in managing initiatives and issues impacting wireless equipment, including new business impact analysis, complex accounting, and issue investigation.
Assist in the day-to-day management of wireless equipment-related projects, including system updates, acting as an SME on cross-functional projects, and ensuring proper accounting, reporting, and controls.
Perform audit tasks for quarter and year-end external audits.

Requirements

Strong technical accounting skills with an accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent experience.
3 to 4 years of experience in a fast-paced, challenging accounting and special projects environment.
Strong analytical and project management skills.
Strong interpersonal skills for communication and training across various employee levels.
Strong time management and organizational skills due to tight project and monthly deadlines.
High attention to detail.
Experience with IFRS 15 revenue recognition and Inventory accounting is an asset.
Excellent software skills in Oracle Financials, Microsoft Office (Excel and Access).
Experience with Databricks or SQL is an asset.
