About the Role

The Credit Support Associate (CSA) is a front-line unit within Global Banking & Markets (GBGM) that supports GCIB credit risk underwriters. This role offers ownership and autonomy over a portfolio of Corporate/FI clients from a credit administration perspective, with responsibility for key metric deliverables, credit facilities, data quality, and meeting deadlines. It involves close collaboration with credit and operational business partners, learning about clients and risk management, and contributing to process simplification and improvement. There is an opportunity for growth within a supportive and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support and assist the Credit Underwriting team on a daily basis in managing their portfolios, including the review of global credit facilities.
  • Create credit approval documents for new, renewed, and amended loan, trading, and GTS facilities, and process them through the bank's systems of record.
  • Review approved credit approval documents to ensure compliance with bank policy and procedures.
  • Identify and resolve facility data discrepancies.
  • Respond to inquiries from credit officers and other business partners, investigating and resolving portfolio-related queries.
  • Monitor and resolve facility document exceptions.
  • Create, maintain, and monitor credit and financial events and manage exceptions.
  • Maintain accurate document records.
  • Help simplify and improve processes.
  • Develop and participate in strategic initiatives for efficiency opportunities with senior-level management and team members.
  • Review procedures and technology for efficiencies.

Requirements

  • University graduate or equivalent and/or track record of relevant experience.
  • Institutional banking experience.
  • Good understanding of credit products and processes is desirable.
  • PC literate and systems oriented with proficiency in all Microsoft applications.
  • Japanese language proficiency would be an advantage.
