About the Role
The food service team at COTALAND is seeking a Food & Beverage Manager to oversee an assigned area of food and beverage operations and staff, ranging from quick service restaurants to food carts/kiosks and bars. This position will manage staffing, ordering, receiving, daily operations, and the financial success of the assigned area.
Responsibilities
- Oversee an assigned area of food and beverage operations and staff.
- Manage staffing, ordering, receiving, and daily operations.
- Ensure the financial success of the assigned area.
- Oversee all front of house and back of house operations and logistics.
- Ensure food is prepared to venue standards and served correctly.
- Assist in planning and inter-departmental communications between culinary and operations teams.
- Provide strong customer service and an upscale experience to guests.
- Participate in meetings with Leadership to ensure expectations are understood and met.
- Communicate with serving and culinary staff to ensure proper training and preparation for service.
- Manage the team schedule.
- Lead staff and provide ongoing development and training.
- Assist with payroll data entry, inventory, uniform management, and month-end reconciliation.
- Organize requisition lists based on business demands.
- Manage the cleanliness of assigned areas, ensuring opening and closing duties are administered.
- Support events within the COTA schedule in other capacities as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership food and beverage role.
- Experience in Hospitality Operations, Concessions Management, or Supervisor at Fast Casual Dining Restaurants is beneficial.
- Must live near or be willing to relocate to the Austin, TX area.
- Must be a team player, well-organized, and possess strong computer/Microsoft Office skills.
- Understanding of recipe development, food cost, and best back-of-house practices.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills with a desire to exceed client needs.
- Ability to run a business with an ownership mentality.
- Partner with the culinary team to understand current food and beverage offerings.
- Ability to stand, sit, use hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull.
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods.
- Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision.
- Ability to work in extreme outdoor environments throughout the year.
- Ability to work in environments where noise levels can be moderate to loud during events.
