About the Role

Made In is seeking a Senior Merchant to manage the global assortment of professional-grade cookware and kitchenware across DTC, wholesale, Amazon, and international markets. This role involves owning the product lifecycle, translating the global line into channel-specific assortments, and ensuring margin and sell-through targets are met. You will collaborate with product and commercial leaders to shape the product line from its inception, ensuring brand consistency and channel relevance.

Responsibilities

  • Create and lead a product lifecycle calendar from design and concept to launch strategy.
  • Own the end-to-end assortment across various product categories, managing line architecture, lifecycle, newness cadence, and exits.
  • Build a deliberate line architecture with price tiers, target initial markup, and clear SKU roles.
  • Partner with Product and Design to incorporate commercial and channel perspectives into product creation.
  • Rigorously manage SKU productivity, providing data-backed recommendations for scaling, fixing, or cutting SKUs.
  • Develop channel-right strategies for DTC, Wholesale, Amazon/Marketplace, and International markets.
  • Translate the global line into channel-specific assortments without cannibalization or brand fragmentation.
  • Protect full-price storytelling and newness for DTC, owning on-site assortment logic, sets/attach strategy, and full-price sell-through.
  • Build margin-aware assortments for Wholesale that fit partner needs and support sell-in with seasonal plans.
  • Determine SKU placement on Amazon/Marketplace versus DTC/wholesale, manage MAP governance, and address channel conflict.
  • Localize international assortments based on duty, landed cost, and kitting realities.
  • Take accountability for sales, gross margin, and growth targets across channels, categories, and product ranges.
  • Own the pricing architecture and promotional recommendations to protect premium margins.
  • Present category performance against P&L expectations with action-oriented responses.
  • Set the assortment and financial strategy for the Planning team.
  • Partner closely with planners on open-to-buy, forecasting, and inventory flow.
  • Drive optimization in sell-through, margin, and inventory health in collaboration with sales, Planning, and Product.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in merchandising, buying, or category management for a multi-channel consumer brand.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a category's margin and sell-through.
  • Experience building assortments across DTC and wholesale; marketplace and international experience is a strong plus.
  • Fluent in retail math, markup, IMU, margin, AUR, sell-through, OTB, and inventory productivity.
  • Comfortable making trade-offs across revenue, margin, and inventory with imperfect information.
  • Ability to shape a product line and defend the commercial logic of every SKU.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with a planning tool (Anaplan/Toolio-class).
  • Experience with a PLM.
  • Experience with NuOrder or similar for wholesale.
  • Experience with an ERP (NetSuite).
  • Experience with Shopify/BI.
  • Automate first, headcount later mentality.
  • Energized by owning an outcome as an individual contributor in a fast-moving premium brand.
