About the Role

Join PlayStation's LSI development team to design, develop, and evaluate cutting-edge custom LSIs for PlayStation products. You will be involved in specification definition, feature development, and performance evaluation, focusing on the GPU portion of custom LSIs.

Responsibilities

  • Define LSI specifications by understanding the needs of product planning, hardware, software, and game developers to envision future LSI requirements (performance and cost).
  • Engage in joint design and development with LSI vendors.
  • Verify and evaluate prototype chips to ensure they meet functional requirements and achieve expected performance.
  • Support mass production.
  • Deeply understand hardware at a low level, including cache, memory, and bus, and approach tasks logically for specification definition and verification.
  • Develop evaluation and verification tools using C/C++ for LSI verification and evaluation.

Requirements

  • Understand computer architecture, including the hardware structure of arithmetic units, registers, cache, and buses, to design functions and analyze/evaluate performance.
  • Experience in C/C++ programming.
  • Understand and be able to read/write assembly code.
  • Ability to read English specification documents and conduct email correspondence in English.
